Vanessa de Fábrega is a paralegal with fifteen years of dedicated experience in the legal arena. She is versed in a wide spectrum of legal practices including ERISA litigation, estate planning, employment and labor law, intellectual property, and corporate law. She has also served as a Law Fellow with the California Lawyers for the Arts, San Francisco, California. Vanessa’s primary focus is currently in the firm’s corporate law and intellectual property practices, where she provides effective support in all aspects of the practices including legal, factual and investigative research, document review and analysis, preparing legal memoranda, documents and agreements related to new venture formation, equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and incentive compensation plans, and maintaining corporate records on behalf of clients. Vanessa has significant experience in conducting trademark searches and general IP research, preparing and filing trademark applications, trademark maintenance, and management of intellectual property portfolios. She is a commissioned California Notary Public.
Prior to joining Moscone Emblidge & Rubens, Vanessa lived in Japan for many years where she was the international coordinator for a major music record label, PolyGram (Japan), and later worked in production and tour management for a major Japanese concert promoter, Hayashi International Promotion (H.I.P.). She has also consulted in cross-cultural communication for individuals doing business in Japan.
Outside of the firm, Vanessa has eclectic interests. She performs flamenco dance regularly in the Bay Area, is a quilt artist who has exhibited her work in galleries as well as at the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles, and is a certified yoga instructor.
